The semi-circular blade pair with sliding action ensure full cutting of insulation around the circumference. Rather than tearing off, the blades ensure insulation is cut cleanly, producing right-angled cuts.
The penetration depth of the two knives can be adjusted very finely using the adjustment wheel, with eight detents per direction. This allows cables with the same cross-section yet different insulation thicknesses to be cleanly stripped to the same extent.
